How in the @#$% do you tell how fast your computer is?

Well the one thing that I do love about this new Gateway is that finally you have the ability to open your tower and change out the processor. If need be in 5 years I can drop in an Intel 25.6GHz processor. Computer industry finally wised up on something. I'm just waiting for the day all PC components can be inter-changed by simply detaching and plugging in a new hard drive through a USB-type port. 8GB USB flash drives are a step closer. Wishful thinking if PCs ever got that standardized.

See the point is, the minimum requirements on games is usually VERY inaccurate. Like others side, a 2ghz Core 2 duo, or 1.83ghz one is a world apart from a 2ghz Pentium 4. And PC's are pretty standarized, right now there's 2 major sockets, LGA 775 for Intel and Am2 for AMD. There will probably never be a day where everything is interchangeable, as there are always competition.

Because of the transition from Netburst to Core Architectures, the requirements have been thrown off. They are just now starting to become accurate again, had games stated AMD in the requirements more, we might not have had this confusion.
