Sorry to pop by again ... one final thought on SP2 (mainly for anyone else driving by).

Whilst all XP systems should have SP2 it should not be installed on any computer that is believed to be infected. It won't install correctly and the user could end up with even more trouble. Only install it on a clean machine.

Um...I have another question. There are 3 firewalls to choose from, but I'm often indecisive. Is there...one that you would recommend? ^^;;

Good god Buzz. I just read the entire thread. Great work on helping Silver fix his computer problems. It's rare you find someone willing to spend so much time helping someone out who's completely lost on what to do. Really, good job.
