I think you should take power consumption into the equation, would the two 8800GTS use more power? I would think so, but I don't have any solid figures to work on.
I believe SLi still has problems, thats why im not getting an SLi setup. I would just get one 8800GTX. And yea, i think the 2 8800GTS would use alot more power then a single 8800GTX.
well 1 GTS takes 1 power cord, so 2 power cords in SLI. 1 GTX takes 2 power cords. hmm....takes tons of Amps...tons of power already....I'm not sure. I think is would be almost the same...I'm guna try and find out.
It would make since that the power would need to be doubled. As you now have 2 cards, which both require the 26A. Im sure the card wont eat exactly that, might be lower around 20A, but it would be best to meet the standard or exceed it.
When they state the requirements they take the entire system into the equation. the 8800gts doesn't need 400w and 26amps on the 12 volt by itself.. maybe 150w 16+amps by itself??

its actually just 1 big rail (even tough they say it are 3, but they are internally connected to eachother), but yes, the Corsair will have no problem with it. Its a great PSU
