I didn't turn off my computer for the last week, and I turned it off yesterday. But today when I tried to turn it on and it wouldnt work. I checked the light on the motherboard is on when the power is plugged in, and I checked the wires connected to the power button, and other wires, they are all well connected. What could possible go wrong? If there are more than one possibilities, how should i check them to see which one is it?

Thanks!

check the power switch connector from your case to your motherboard. Also, is the light green or yellow?

EDIT: sorry i didn't read it completely...I'm baffled.

Seeing as you left it on for a week, it's possible that a component somewhere on the motherboard has burnt-out or overheated? Not too sure though, but I think it's something to do with the fact you left it on for so long...

but the computer didn't turn off itself yesterday, I turned it off.

I had an old Packard Bell, this is when I was a nobody in computers. Anyway, I went to turn it on one day, it wouldn't come on. I tried switching the PSU switch on and off, I finally got the guts to open it. I looked around inside and saw the wires coming from the front of the case, I pushed the pins into the plugs better. I closed it and tried again, nothing happened. I realized that the power switch didn't "click", I opened the case and looked at the front panel, the power switch had "dislodged" itself from the bevel
