AMD claiming octo-core?

Both AMD and Intel are working on octo-core CPU's, but they wont be out until at least late next year.

Phenom FX is qaud core processor, but I think you can buy two and then you will have octo-core........... Just like AMD Athlon FX7x

However, I think Phenom FX is a waste of money. Just wait for Intel new processor "Penryn" which is supposed to kill AMD Phenom.

I don't believe rumors anymore.
Will Penryn kill Phenom, just like the 2900 killed the 8800 line?

Wow, technology grows fast! A few months ago the dual core and c2d and quad core came out... now octo cores????? man and im still stuck with a P4 2.8Ghz >(

Rofl and what makes you think AMD won't do the same? anyway ignore this thread since it'll become a flaming one at this rate

The last I heard Intel was really "flaming" AMD, due to the Core 2 Duo. Only problem with Intel is the price, so tell me what is AMD gonna do to combat Intel's success? Yes, lower their prices, dee duh dee!!

Don't tell ppl to ignore my thread, I wanted to see what and why ppl thought of AMD claiming the octa-core technology before Intel. I wanted to here everyone's opinion, wait, excluding your opinion. What if I came into one of your threads and told ppl to ignore it? Huh??

I would not be so quick to bash AMD. At the end of the XP Athlon line the XP Athlon 3200+ at 2.2Ghz was as fast as a P4 at 3Ghz, the P4 had it beat by 800Mhz and still lost! People thought what will AMD do now because 2.2Ghz is about the most they can get out of the XP and Intel could keep bumping up the Mhz on the P4. AMD came out with the Athlon 64 and it beat the upper P4s as much as the XP before it.
Now Intel finally came out with the Core 2 that beats the Athlon 64 a few (years) later. Oh I.m really impressed that a multi billion company like Intel finally made a Processor that could beat a AMD. It just shows me how screwed up Intel is to (ever) let AMD make a faster processor much less dominate like AMD did. Now AMD is releasing the Barsalona off shoots and by all accounts is faster than the Core 2. I guess Intel will go back to bumping up the Mhz again and later on drop to 45 die size and then (copy) AMDs Hyper Transport and onboard memory controller

I am bashing AMD by stating facts? You AMD fans complain about monopoly and yet you still say that AMD beats Intel? That doesn't make much sense to me, if AMD beats Intel so bad, then why aren't they #62 on the Fortune 500 list? Answer that plz.

For knowing (NOTHING) you fasinate me!

Did you or not say this less than a month ago and now you know everything, your not worth arguing with! Name something in my post thats not true!

I know someone who works in PR with Intel, that could be one reason, I don't need to do research. I don't get personally offended, not over something stupid. I have visioned their chips as always being bad, and I have heard several stories about them burning out and destroying themselves. AMD's chips will destroy themselves when getting to hot and Intel will just shut-down.

I think you mentioned this before :P

You're right I mentioned that, you brought it back on. Oh, so now I speak of "stupid crap" because I have an opinion about what components I use? Why do you use AMD? Why do I use Intel?

Answer those questions and you have our differences :)
