Ok well I have about 200 for a new card (rig in sig)
The reason I need a new one is obvious lol.
I can hardly play any games with out lag and blotch.
So I was wondering What kind of card can I get for about 200 -/+?
of course I will be buying from newegg or tigerdirect.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

DX10 is here. DX9 will be history within months.

The 7 series is as good as dead. Even the 8 series will soon be as good as dead if they dont get way better drivers, seein as their direct X 10 play is horrible as hell.

Yes, but not everybody has the money to buy a DX10 card, I was just stating that it was a good DX9 card.

For these reasons, I recommended some different options, he can go for an 8 series to be more future proof, or go with a 7 series for more power.

I think paying an extra $100 for an 8800GTS that will outperform the 7 series and last alot longer in the gaming future is well worth the investment.

Here are some good options for the 8 series, at good prices:

I had my eye on this card as soon as the 8800GTS 320mb was released, its too bad everyone else did as well:

All of those cards should last you well into next year, the 7 series wouldnt last to the end of this year (if you like to play new games). The 7900 is indeed a fast card, but it just wont last.

My advice is save a few more pennies and go with something that will last longer, rather then spending $200 now and another $200 or more in a few months or so.

actually I forgot to mention that I will be building a new rig soon.
This rig is mostly for d.ling/u.ling stuff BUT I need to be able to play games like americas army and bf2 because Im kinda addicted lol.

But as soon as I get money (a month or so) I will start on a new more advanced rig.
so should I still just go with the dx9 7 series?

Thanks.
