PSU problem maybe (Fixed Now)

okay well I just recently installed a new stick of RAM into my computer and well I didn't really know what I was doing but I did follow the upgrade and service guide that came with the computer and now my computer doesn't start up at all.

When I plug the power cord into the back of the computer the power light blinks instead of a stable green color, I can also hear a clicking noise. When I hit the power button in the front of the tower nothing happens, none of the fans turn on & the blue light that used to come on in the front doesn't anymore.

I did unplug some cords though and I think I might have put in the wrong one, but I've been trying different cord combinations and nothing's working.

Anyone have any ideas? I've tried removing the new stick of RAM, reseating the old RAM and trying different cord combinations but nothing seems to work.

Really sad too cause the first time I try to upgrade my computer, I completely screw it up . Too bad I figured out that I didn't have to remove my harddrive AFTER I started removing the cords that connected the the PSU to the Hard drive.

also if anyone has a HP media center m1095c and knows whether I'm supposed to have the P9 or P10 cord hooked up to it, that'd be helpful (even though I've tried both atleast it'd get rid of one possibility).

okay recently I've found out it wasn't the PSU because when I disconnected all the cords from the motherboard and tried powering it, the light actually stays the solid green color. I'm starting to think I damaged my motherboard somehow when I was installing new RAM because I bought a new PSU and tried putting that in and it doesn't work with the new PSU in it.

no idea how I fixed it but I did have to use the new PSU which is better for me anyways, 430w (old one was 300w) for when I get my new video card .

P9 and P10 sound like 4 pin peripheral power connectors. If that's the case, it won't matter which one you plug into a drive. Certainly if the two connectors look identical then it doesn't matter which one you plug in. Did you touch either the 20/24 pin ATX main connector or the 4 pin ATX12V going into the motherboard? Make sure that both are firmly connected.

It does sound like a PSU problem but i'm suspicious that it's happened just as you've performed this upgrade. It's quite difficult to damage a PSU while upgrading the RAM, since the PSU is self contained. Your motherboard is another possibility.

I don't think so, here's basically what I did

-Unplugged everything from computer, the computer was turned on to begin with. I turned off the computer the previous night and hadn't turned it on all day.
-took off the side panel
-took off the front panel
-attempted to pull out the Hard Drive but a screw wouldn't come out because I was using a screw driver that was too small or something and it just grinded away at the screw so I stopped.
-Unplugged the PSU cord connecting the HD to the PSU
-Unplugged the cord connecting the HD to the motherboard.
-Pulled the HD out a bit to see where the memory slots were.
-Opened the Memory slot, then I tried inserting a RAM stick but it wouldn't go in that easily so I had to force it in a bit.
-The RAM stick finally fit so i put the HD back in then I forgot which P9 or P10 was originally so I put the P9 cord in (P9 cord is the one that goes from PSU to HD, there's two of them P9 & P10) because the P9 letter and # were more faded than the P10.
-Plugged the connecting cord from the motherboard to the HD back in.
-put both Panels back on.
-plugged power cord in and I'm back to where I am (before trying a bunch of RAM/Cord combinations)

I'm pretty sure i didn't touch anything on the motherboard, but I did start blowing a bunch of dust around because it was pretty dirty.
