Welcome to Computer Forum! I think there is an adapter that you need to get (I'm not sure though). As far as computer speed goes, could you post up the specs of your computer? Also, how old is the computer and what operating system are you running on it?

Thanks jordan
happy to be here

computer is 4 years old
windows xp
amd athlon pross
kt266 chipset ddr atx motherboard base system
189gb memory
90gb hard drive

As far as speed goes it could definitely use a RAM uprade (assuming you meant 189MB instead of GB). What version of Athlon do you have? Try going to http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/. It will tell you how much you can do to upgrade your PC. If you are into graphics you may want to consider a new PC though.

You don't need a gmaing PC, there are other computers that are pretty good that aren't so expensive. For $820 you can get this beauty. That PC will run what you need very well. Of course, it would run even better with XP.
