I'm thinking of attempting to build a small hand held computer...

Does anyone know of anyone who has done something like this?

It would only need maybe 16mb of video ram, 512 ram and a small 5200 drive.

I'd like it to be battery powered.

I know, I know a laptop does all of this, but I'd like it to be a bit smaller.. and hell it would give me something to work on.

What do you mean 'hand held'? I suppose something like a bulky laptop could be made from standard PC components, but I don't know how you could make a true handheld sized one without a computer engineering degree.

If you're thinking of doing that, I would recommend a motherboard/CPU combo such as this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813153045

It's only about 6.5" x 6.5", which is extremely small.

The processor should work, but the video card is the only thing im not sure of. You may need to use a PCI card, but I dont know if that will mess up your plans or not.

It's not a very demanding game... I'd guess that onboard video should work...

They dont have them on Newegg, but VIA has some C7 processors out which are alot better then the C3 I posted, it's too bad because I love buying from Newegg, lol.
