I have been looking for a new internal hard drive to keep all my pictures and music on, but I am unsure what I should get. I am trying to find out which kind I should actually get before I get the wrong kind and it doesn't work. I have been suggested to get 7200 RPM 16MB Cache ATA100, but I wanted to post and see what you guys thought.
Here is info on my computer now. click here
I am still a bit unsure because I have heard different things from different people about what to get. One thing I have heard is to order from Newegg. Can someone recommend a good internal hd for me. I am looking for something in the $100 range, but I would be willing to spend a little more if the deals were any better .It would help me out a lot. Thanks in advanced.

Where do you live? if you live outside of CA you should order from zipzoomfly.com its no tax and free shipping for every item
and if you are going to order from newegg I would prefer(3.0GB/s Interface, I dont like ATA100s)

Thanks for the help so far guys. I don't necessarily prefer ATA, it's just what I was told to get from my friend. Burgerbob said since I have SATA ports, use them...and it doesn't have to be 100ATA either. I don't know a great deal about what all this stuff means, but I', learning. I am just trying to find the best hd I can at a good price.

Well, try 3GB/s, most users use that then ATA100s, well they made ATA133s and 150s, but they are too expensive and doesnt show much difference(Except ATA150 is really fast, if you see raptor, file writing speed in incredible)
