Hi,

Could anybody tell if a DDR2 667mhz be used on a toshiba Satellite M30 model which is I bought in 2005?

What will happens if i put the ddr2 ram in the laptops?

Well I know with desktop RAM, DDR2 has more pins than DDR... I think DDR2 will fit in a DDR slot, BUT won't work. They are two different standards, running at different speeds, different voltages, etc etc...

Yes, DDR and DDR2 SODIMMs have the same number of pins but the keying is ever so slightly off so that you can't put them in the wrong slot.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up... I looked on Newegg and saw they looked similar, but I couldn't imagine them leaving the key the same...

If I held one of each up and you looked at them you wouldn't be able to see the difference, you have to have them literally overlapping so you can see the exact positioning of the key to be able to tell, it's so similar.
