Quick troubleshooting- "Services" in control panel not responding

Hey guys,

How are you all doing? I've just been having a problem for a while now, and it's starting to bug me.

I installed a fresh copy of Windows XP, but ever since then, it appears that I always have to turn on some integral parts of the Services. For internet connection, I always need to go into the Services panel and start the DHCP Client and Network Connection every time my computer restarts.

Yes- the services are all set on automatic; yet, it appears as if it refuses to start when I restart the computer.

Is there any way I can make the services labeled "automatic" start in the beginning? I don't know what's causing this but maybe pointing me to a viable program will fix my problems.

Thanks!

Check Event Viewer. It should have some more info about that.
Maybe that'll tell us something...

(In case you don't know where to find it:
Start > Run > type: eventvwr).
