Ok everybody, let's just cool it. If there are any more outbursts, this thread will be closed immediately.
To review, we need a monitor from the aforementioned site, and at a 200 - 350 Canadian Dollars.
As for me, I don't like widescreen, so I would choose something like this:
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=22177&vpn=L1900J-BF&manufacture=LG Electronics
1. High brightness level (300cd/m2)
2. Good 3-year warranty.
3. High contrast compared to the other LG models
4. One of the drawbacks for me is the base is red on the front, but a little spray paint can fix that...
but, if you like widescreen, I would go with something like this:
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=20881&vpn=LS22DPWCBQ/XAA&manufacture=Samsung
Reasons being:
1. Samsung has a 3-year warranty on their monitors, most are 1 year (Viewsonic also has a 3-year warranty).
2. 22" - a pretty good sized screen for the price.
3. The brightness isn't the best @ 280cd/m2, but it's definitely more than adequate (you can find up to 300 cd/m2).
4. The response time is 5ms, which is within the recommended time of 8ms (for me, different people have different standards).
In general ignore the contrast ratios of monitors because they are not standardized between companies, but if you are comparing two models from the same company, then they actually mean something...
