Hey, i recently changed my sempron 3200+ with an athlon64 x2 3800+. I play Warcraft 3 a lot and have noticed that since i changed the CPU the game runs slower now, slower than a stock brand pc with integrated graphics. Im guessing its the processor specially the dual-core maybe? Thanks in advice for any suggestions. :D

btw: can you return OEM products to Newegg??

i've just been looking on web for an answer to your problem and found out that a lot of different people are reporting problems with sluggish performance during playing warcraft, which must be more than a coincidence.

Is it just that one game that causes problems or is it the system in general.

Look for various patches... I know there's an AMD dual core patch out, and maybe there's some update for Warcraft as well...

Something else that sometimes helps... Start the game, then bring up the task manager. Find the process for Worcraft, rightclick it, set affinity, and set it to CPU0.

I know AMD released a patch to fix this.

But you can try setting the process to just one core before the game launches, that usually fixes the issues.

Thanks guys, i guess that was it, i set the affinity of the Warcraft process to only 1 core and its working perfectly. :)
