hi guys,

one of my pc always face this problem, usually i reformat it... But i think should have a solution to it. Anybody knows?
The problem are:
-when my pc not shut down properly or black out or hang and need to reset, then when i open back it goes a screen shown=safe mode, safe mode with prompt, open windows with last best known configuration, start windows normally........and other, you know what i mean. Usually i choose the last known.....that works. after that win XP loading will appear, then it when desktop appear it will restart back automatically...
-Sometimes, it works, i mean it will open windows normally but when it happen again, i can't access to windows.
-Once, i've choose safe mode, it boot up to windows, then after restarted, it works fine.. but sometimes, when i choose safe mode, it won't boot up to windows..
-Until now it happens about 10 times.. The solution that i found is to format back.... but i tired to do it every time.. So like win 98 and 2000, they have a disk to restore and solve booting problem. For Xp it have too but i don't know how to use it... I've try to repair installation use the windows cd, but does'nt works..
-The point is, How to solve this problem without reformat... Anybody knows?? And how to prevent it to happens again?? Thanks..

Well, the first thing after I install windows is disable their automatic restart function in the device manager, that way, then the computer crashes I see the blue screen of death which will have some sort of error code on it which will give me an idea as to what the problem might be. I suggest you do that before you go changing any hardware.

are you overclocked??

You are running XP I presume. Well get into system properties by press the windows logo key and "Pause and Break" key together. Then there should a tab for Advanced system properties, and in one of these rectangular section there should be one for debugging, system failure and stuff like that. Click on that and the option to turn off Auto restart after a crash should be there. I have vista now so I'm just going from memory on this.

I've found it.. Thanks..

Let us know how it went, if it crashes again you should be able to see the error code, just copy it down and it will give an indication of what is wrong.
