windows vista for dummies

I prefer practical 1st hand experience with working directly with the newer version of Windows as time goes along. At times those can helpful for the pc illiterate newbie. The problem with those books is when going to troubleshoot more involved problems on the different versions of Windows. Those are mainly desktop tricks and tips there.

Does chapter 1 say format and reinstall windows xp?
Nah, it would say in the very last chapter after the 100+ pages of troubleshooting, that if you wish to run an OS that actually works, return the OS and buy XP.

hahaha I actually like your version better!

For the new book there you have to return XP for Vista don't forget! :P That's how the dummies get drawn in. You buy a book that doesn't tell you that much. It certainly won't cover the common new drivers problem seen when any version of Windows first comes out.

Anyone for dos? That was the first in the line there. Once you get past the User Account Control and new Programs+Feature nightmare that replaces the add/remove Windows components in the add/remove programs section anyone can run Vista(once you find drivers and programs compatible that is.).

Yeah, first hand experience is like, a picture=900 words

That must be the 900mhz for the new wireless headphones here. But I didn't mention that did I? It maybe closer to 10,000 words. :P

chapter 1: how to figure out how screwed you are
chapter 2: this disk is non refundable
chapter 3: who needs working drivers anyway!
chapter 4: you think WoW sucked your RAM, you ain't seen nothing yet!
chapter 5: your a dummy for even getting Vista
Chapter 6: If you just highlighted this, than Vista screwed you over with you monitor too! <--- please hiligh it you can not read

nah nah nah, u must be a real retard to not know how to use vista and to complain about it , ur computer sucks and is not up to date with hardware thats its plain and simple.

ITS JUST LIKE XP with a few bells and wistles !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's "bells and whistles" there. But then books like those are for what? dummies anyways. They give a newbie some wordy solutions for what most take for a second nature automatic response in far less words. How do you delete a file? ddaaaa.... You first blah blah blah... instead of simply stating drag it into the recycle bin or choose the delete option in the right click menu. Or you simply highlight a file and choose the delete option from a drop down menu on the menu bar. They turn it into a three page deal there.
