GPU & LCD display issues

I have a ViewSonic VX1935WM LCD and I’m unable to get the proper resolution from my GPU
for it to be viewed properly.

Text is hard to read and shapes such as circles are not shown correctly, they look like ovals

The GPU is a Geforce FX 5200
128MB RAM Bios V4.34.20.22

Resolution settings are 800x600,
1024x768,1152x864(current) 1280x720,1280x768 and 1360x768.

I use CAD a lot so it’s very annoying seeing thing misshaped.

Any ideas how to fix this problem?

the native res 1440by900 of your monitor... so that is why you have a bad picture quality.
lcd have only 1 res setting to use.it is called a native resolution, so you need to set it to 1440by900!.

Thanks for the explanation. Why doesn’t my laptop have the same problem when I change the Res?

Do I need to buy a newer video card or is there someway I can over clock it to get 1440x900

im not to sure why your laptop dose not have bad quality when goning from 1 res to another res.

yes.. you will have to buy a new graphic card if you what to display 1440by900 or you can take the monitor back since i see that your graphic card can display 1280by768 most widesrceen montior display a native res of 1280by768 (which is about a 19"-21" montior...)

wish i could help more with your problem.
