Anyway to replace CNPS 9500 fan

Is there any way / easy way of replacing the fan in the cnps 9500 with a different 92mm one? If so how does anyone know

Did yours quit? There may or may not be an option for replacement on those. That would something the vendor would have information on since you might have to special order it from Zalman. Otherwise you would have to substitute another 92mm fan that will fit into the cooler and run at the same voltage. That would most likely end up being a losing cause there. See if you can order a replacement from Zalman otherwise replacement time.

Its not that its faulty - its the noise of it - i have a 92mm fan at home but i am wondering if there is a way to mount it replacing the stock fan, as it isnt the conventional square mounted fan

The typical mounted fan won't work since those are made to fit inside the plastic casing. Zalman and other makes of cooler each have their own design and fitting per model cooler. There's no universal fit. You would end jerry rigging something that most likely won't even work out. That's why seeing if you can special order a replacement would be one thing to avoid buying a new cooler to save on cost there.

There are two settings on the fan controller one being the normal with the other being the slower speed. With a substitute fan if fitted you would need to buy a different fan controller to see that work.

you must be in a silent room or something because i have the 9700 even at max speed it is not even loud.

maybe im being picky but even at lowest speed it is louder than a psu two 120mm fans a 14cm fan 25cm fan HDD and the VF 9000 gpu cooler

says on the box lowest is 18 DBa but i dont believe this - its so loud compared to any and all of my pother fans - and i have lots of them

With the exact same model cooler here I never even hear the 92mm fan on it. I found the fan in the supply was the only one heard when placing a good load on it. A 140mm front intake, two 120mm fans on the side cover, and a single 120 rear exhaust are quiet through all that along with the Zalman.

Then something is wrong with the fane. I have the CNPS9500LED and on it's lowest setting, it's virtually undetectable.

It seems all three of us are running the same model with the blue led. Are you sure it's the Zalman fan actually making the noise and not a supply or case fan? You would have to listen closely with a side cover off to pin point the fan.

Yes lol im not that stupid. Even when thats the only fan plugged in on low speeds i can hear it - i then gently stop the fan from moving with my finger and there is a large drop in sound - so yes it is the zalman

Since you have the fan for the cooler clearly pointed out then you have two choices to consider. One is trying to order a replacement fan while the other would mean replacing the cooler for a new one. This is one thing you won't want to let go since the last build here saw a fan quit without notice on a Scythe cooler and saw the cpu cook!
