I need recomendations...

Hello all,

Iam thinking of buying an upgrade to my pentium 4.

I dont' want to built it, I just want to buy a desktop.

Do you guys have any recommendations from any good sites?

I dont' play games. I mostly want my computer to watch TV, play movies, and doing some 3d stuff on my computer(all at the same time!).

I dont' need a monitor, I already have one(or 2). I just need a desktop.

I dont' mind which processor as long as they are good, but i heard that AMD is more for gaming.

Any recommendation will be greatly appreciated.

A custom would b e better... you get to choose the parts and prices ya want

I don't know abou that....I calculated everything if I wanted to built one and everything comes out to be$500 more expensive then the prebuilt one..

Sure the specs are not really the same, the difference is not $500.

The only thing I dont' like about the prebuilt one is that they all come with VISTA.

Anybody know if Newegg will get rid of vista and put xp for ya if you call them?

If you used overnight shipping and a bad website of course its gonnabe more expensive. Building a custom has risks, but if your up for the challenge you can save alot of cash. Compaq/dell/hp charge labor. You dont have to. Just order and make. If oyur a first timer a prebuilt is for you
 
i would only buy laptops from them not desktops. they're still just resellers other than paint jobs and mods.

Dell and HP are by far the worst, IMO. Go with one of these, they use genuine parts, unlike Dell and HP.

Dell, yea they are bad, hp they are ok just don't expect a lot from them, but they do the work, my mom had her computer for like 4 years without a problem and it was a hp worked like a champion.

Ibuypower isn't bad but i've heard that they customer support really sucks
