Is this a good enough card????

I'm not like a hard core computer gamer because I have a xbox360, but I'm building a new computer and I'm haveing trouble picking out a video card. I have a intel q6600 and an ASUS striker extreme with a 500G HD and 4G mem. I want a card that will deliver good graphics for games and video. I only have enough money to buy one card right now but I will run sli later, and I don't want to go over $500. Is the EVGA 8800GTS 640MB a good card to buy or should I go with something else? Also I don't plan to upgrade the card except getting one more to run sli.
 
I'm wondering why you have that system if you're not a hardcore computer gamer. What are you, a hardcore web browser or word user?

That computer is pretty close to bleeding edge AFAIK.

Last time I checked Forza 2 did not have a PC version.
