ultimate gaming rig advice/coments/etc..

nothings wrong with that case. i have both. is just that the antec 900 has this big ass fan on the top.

Get the antec 900 from fry, change your ram to like PC2 8500 and get 4gb instead, i would rather get the corsair 620w than mushkin as a psu and wait for july 22 when prices drops and you can get the QX6800 for the same price the QX6700 is right now

is the motherboard really compatible with that type of ram (im still a bit neweish)
and im gonna do exactly as you say and wait till july to buy intel processors itll be a whole lot cheaper:)

Why would he need 4GB of RAM, slight overkill...

quite true....it would be nice to have 4gb of ram but i dont think its needed right now.

plus wouldnt he have to get a 64bit edition of windows to be able to use all 4gb?

maybe he already has an os though.

yea i have both vista 32-bit and 64-bit so the 4GB isn't a problem, i just need to know if the motherboard is really compatible with that ram, becouse if you read the specs it only says standard memory DDR2 1200

Memory is backwards compatible with that type, e.g.:

DDR2-800 can run on a board that supports DDR2-1200 but DDR and SDR won't work unless it has separate slots.

Yeah, what would be the best idea for gaming rig is that it will be better if you buy PC8500-ish ram and get 4GB instead of the 2GB you chose. And wait for the price cut, just like chupacabra said :)

I would recommend getting Corsair Dominator or something like that. :P

You might want to improve your Case to better ones for gaming (and future watercooling I guess)like:
Lian-Li (Every cases are great! especially full towers)
Silverstone (Cost heavy but still okay)
Thermaltake (Armor Series, Kandalf, etc.)

and I would like to post some more helps on the monitors and speakers...

But I'm not sure what's your budget limit is so post a price and I'll help you find the "Bangs for the Bucks. :)

i would say the antec p190 for case and it includes 2 PSU's (550W for optical drives etc, 650 W for mobo and GFX) find it here
EDIT: or the slightly cheaper Silverstone TJ07 case which is also lovely :)

Apevia cases are a disgrace to the case market, I have had one and it has been fine. They are just so cheaply made and not worth it for the money. That is far from ultimate, the ultimate would contain 2x RAID Raptors and a 500Gb Storage HDD. With SLI 8800GTX and an X6800 instead of the QX6700, you won't be using all of that yet. 4Gb of RAM may be overkill but, it would sure be nice to have, it is the ultimate gaming rig.
