Asus Vs. Apple

I would like to know everyones thoughts on the asus G- series http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220182

The Mac book pro.

I'm wondering which computer to get. The man competition is the Macbook pro 15 inch screen and 2.2 GHz vs the Asus G-1A with 2.2 GHz .

The pro's of the Macbook is that all my friends have one I mean everysingle one got a mac book pro. They also can do video confrences because we are scattered around the U.S at different colleges and so fourth. Plus apple has the student discount so with everything even a 30 gig ipod its only 2100 dollars.

The cons Of the Mac book is isnt as fast as the asus. The asus has better graphics card by far. The asus already has windows on it.

I just want some input on which computer would fit me better. Oh yes I'm a student that will be taking notes on this computer at school mybe play a couple games on it, and surf the web.

You can have the best of both worlds with the Mac Book Pro; you can use Parallels for example to get Windows to work within OS X or you can use Boot Camp to make Windows a separate OS altogether. OS X is also a lot faster than Windows. Just ask someone who has got Windows on a Mac Book Pro.
 
Just get a windows notebook. More parts, More info, More ppl know how to fix it...etc. plus probably cheaper
 
Macbook Pro. You can run boot camp, and also the new Leopard is coming out in October that will destroy Vista and will run perfectly on the Macbook. If you add in reliability, and that all your friends have one, I would definitely buy the Mac.
And also, many game companies are going to start releasing all games in both Mac and PC, so don't let that hinder any decision.
 
I have read all about the Leopard now. I wonder if Apple will release new notebooks with Leopard? If that so happens I might as well just wait till October to get my Mac, because I have a decent desktop that should last until then.

If Leopard comes with bootcamp then why not a Mac?

Will Leopard be able to compete with Vista or not?
 
vista and osx are BOTH too fat and slow

speed > smoothness and looks, imo

give me xp, or even <honestly> linux over either, any day
 
Vista will be better after they come out with the first service pack. I remember back in 2001 when xp came out. Xp had some annoyances, one of the biggest was USB, some hardware installations ...etc , then after SP2 much better, especially USB V2.
 
go with the macbook pro, the new ones now have higher end nvidia video cards in them, they are faster because OS X requires less resources to run, and OS X beats the crap out of vista.

I have a macbook pro and it is awesome, probably the best laptop I have ever owned. You can run any OS and any application on it, and yes Leopard is going to blow vista out of the water, hell Tiger IMO is still way better than vista.

I think that would most likely be illegal, also I have not heard such rubbish. MS is a software company they hardly care what hardware you use to run their OS. They are still getting your money.
