What PSU do I need?

This is going to be my set-up... I have a 250gb hard drive and am going to buy a 400gb one and possibly add another in the future. I also have an external dvd burner ( http://www.officedepot.com/textRefi...lpartial&N=132552&uniqueSearchFlag=true&Nty=1 ) that I'm going to take out of the case and put in the comp.

Case: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=2337812&sku=ULT33179
Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16813131013
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16819103771
Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16814143090
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16820231098

So the question is, how much power do I need (I want to leave my options open for running SLI in the future too) and whats the best PSU to be getting for the price (under 75 bucks)

Thanks

Not sure, i personaly havnt heard good about Coolmax psu's....im sure some one else can give you some suggestions but for under $75 i think you can get the most "bang for your buck" with some of the Ultra psu's

Other people I have talked to like ultra psu's also and I have an ultra case so I guess I'm going to go with one... I'm just skeptical because they have 600W ones for like 40 bucks so it kind of makes me question the quality. But if you guys had to pick out of these which would you go with because I wonder if some of them are just cheap products. Thanks

If you're going to go with Ultra, I'd grab either the XVS 600W (better PSU and much better price) or the X-Finity 600W (reduced price to clear the last of the old stock).

Either way you'd be fine for a single 7950, but borderline for two. I'd go with the Corsair HX520W. $5 over your budget, but the free shipping should make up for that.

why if a 600 is borderline enough for 2 of those cards would i step down to a 520? or is there something I'm missing... that ultra xfinity for 30 bucks just kind of makes me think it can't be that great of a product if its that cheap... or am I being too cautious? I just don't want to get something thats going to die on me and make me buy a new one

It's predominantly the amperage on the +12V rails - the Corsair provides 40A whereas the Ultra provides 35A. The Corsair is also rated at 50C, and maintains a very stable output right up to it's rated maximum, whereas the Ultra falls off a little before getting there. The Corsair also handles crossloading better.

As for the X-Finity, the reason it's only $30 is because Ultra is discontinuing that product line, and getting rid of old stock. It was a $70 PSU up until a few months ago.
