can i put mac software on a windows pc

my uncle has a apple latop and he can just press a button twice and it will open up windows

here is my rig
q66600
nforce 680i
8800gts 640
cold fusion 1066 2gb
500gb 7200
water cooling
700watt psu

i plan on putting vista on it but what would happen if i try downloading the latest mac os system, if its not possible why is that, mac configurations arnt to differnt
 
that system would run osx better than a mac

only problem might be the nvidia card

i don't know if there's such things as nvidia apple drivers

Sounds like he's probably using a KVM switch to toggle between a MAC and a PC. I have never heard of anyone running Mac OS on PC Hardware, or running Mac applications on Windows. Perhaps in a virtual machine?
 
he is using a kvm, i saw a customer that had that arangement, taps a key twice, forgot which key.
 
Or if he is running a mac he has parallels or something similar and is just going between his desktops to the windows os on the other one...

Man, you never get your facts straight when it comes to anything to do with Macs.

1) No, you can't run OS X on your PC. There is a project called OS X x86 but it is illegal and breaks the EULA that comes with Apple's OS.

2) No it won't run better because Apple is a closed platform, their machines obviously will run OS X better

3) Parallels desktop can run Windows (or any OS for that matter) and can be run in full screen mode with a few clicks of the mouse. So it is very possible to have it running like that, I do on my Macbook Pro.

4) Apple supports nvidia, if you would even go to their website you will see they have now added support for nvidia cards, and their new line of laptops ship by default with nvidia video cards. ATI has been slipping lately and writing horrid drivers, I think apple dumped them and went with Nvidia. Smart move.
 
1) legal and possible are two different things
2) now that osx is an x86 platform, there's no exclusive apple hardware, and thusly, no reason his quad-core couldn't run the same software just as fast, and be even more overclockable

4) fair enough, last i knew, they were still using ati exclusively. i don't get the apple newsletter
 
regardless of whether its PPC based or x86 based, Apple developers write their software for their hardware which they all design in house, so it will always run better on their hardware since they design everything from the ground up.
