I think it's called Master Delete or something like that. I want to delete everything on the hard drive and if possibly the O.S. as well.

Could someone tell me how it's done. Thanks!

Could just format the drive but is there a reason to do this?

Anyways just put in the XP disc into the CD drive> reboot the PC> go into the BIOS and change the 1st boot device to CDROM then save and quit> then the PC will say summin like "to boot from CD press anykey"> let it do the setup and then it will give you the option to delete/make partitions. Then after that you can choose to do a quick or full format.

i think i'll just format the drive and install a new O.S.

there's just a lot of junk on the laptop. corrupted files and our technician says the O.S. is corrupted. i'm better off with my desktop.

anyway, thanks for your advice.

just make sure you have a valid OS key, so you dont get screwed over like i did...

Everyone this is just a nice tip that works great. If you reformat your computer. Before doing anything, update your comp to the lastest service pack and all the updates updated. then use the windows backup utility and back up your intire hard drive. it should still be small enough to burn to a dvd and from there no having to re download everything.
