hi, im a bit hopeless with computers, so i was wondering if someone could please tell me how to open a U file? i recently downloaded a PC game which is a U file, and it wont open. i cant find much information about how to open these files on the net, so i was hoping that someone could tell me how to open them, or tell me a program that will do it. thanks!!

I was thinking the same thing.

All I can find on the U file is that it belongs to Epic games.. They've been around for awhile, it's possible some of their old crap is freeware now. Do a Google search.

that use U files? I believe almost all freeware games use a .exe no?


the only game related usage of a file with a .u extension is a data file from unreal tournament(Epic Games)it could also be be part of a three-split file used by Quicktime(file is split in y u z and the parts, when joined together, make the entire thing)
