so will you guys @ CF tell me what you think of this game/school rig?
feel free to make suggestions even though i want to keep it really close to this price.

I have one question though. i just recieved a televison set for christmas and it can become a pc monitor also here it is:

so my question is the tv has built in speakers (as most tv's do:)) i was wondering since it does have speakers does this mean as long as i have the rite cables (look under the cable section and tell me if those are rite also) will i have sound or do i need to buy speakers also??

im getting a 8800GTX.. i HATE the 900 im sick of it and its the ugliest case but its really good...it will be an awesome gaming pc:D

When are you planning to go to college? Don't say you're in college when your AIM screen name specifies your age..... Don't expect a build to last for over 2 years.


But, yes the build looks pretty good and I would buy Vista Ultimate. Weren't you the one with the $20,000 PC budget? Lol
 
Thats pretty much exactly what I have...only go with a better KB/mouse combo...it'll pay off for FPS games I promise. Seems like you've done your homework...no pun intended.
 
First of all im not in college. Im going to boarding school im a freshman in high school. my mother is a med student at john hopkins university so she sendin me there while she studies ill be there till i graduate. i want a computer that will allow me to play games in my dorm. (thats pretty much what i will do) i picked the graphics card because i play intense games like WoW and flight simulator X also i play crisis.
 
Well, WoW is by no means intensive. Like we've said, pretty much anything will run wow. Flight sim is another story however. But if you'll let us know how you play a game that hasn't even been released I'm sure we'd love to hear it.
 
Well I figured people were analytical enough to know that I was clearly talking about crysis. I mean if I knew flight sim was hardware intensive I've obviously dealt with it before. Lets put two and two together here.

And no...unfortunately I don't live in a cave, cause that'd be pretty cool.

Ron, what do you think about a keyboard and a mouse? If you want to play games where transfer rates matter on the commands you input, you won't want a cheap generic model. The Logitech G5 or Razorback are good mice. For keybhoards, I'd either go with a logitech G15 or Saitek eclipse 2. I have a Saitek/G5 and I love it.
 
see i dont know much about computer parts and what not( i know alot about computers) but not parts and the things i do no about like hdd and ram i know very little. so do you think i should get tht keyboard and mouse i dont know
i wanna keep the price pretty close to that at 1500 dollars
