PSU Help!/Reccomendations

Hi,
I got my PC a couple of months ago and bought a case with a PSU included. Being the careless person that I am I didn't check the rails or anything about the PSU at all.Except the Wattage, 350W. Recently (10 minutes ago) I opened up my PC to check what it was. I was astonished to find its really really really bad!The sticker on the side looks like this:

__________________________________________________________
-Thermal Master
-ATX 12V
-Product No. Tm-350-Pmsr
-W/o PFC
-AC Input 115/230 10A/5A 50-60Hz
---------------------------------------------------------
-DC Output | +12V | +5V | +3.3V | -5V | -12V | +5Vsb |
-Continuity | +10a | 14a | 14a | 0.5a | 0.5a | 2a |
-Max Power Output 350W
----------------------------------------------------------

Thats bad right?I'm fairly sure it is. I got this PSU in an Elite 331 at
'Computer Parts Land' in Melbourne. Any way now I'm looking to buy a new PSU around the 500 Watts range with 30a or 28a on the 12 V rail (or rails combined if it has dual rails).I'm not an OCer and as long as this new PSU is quieter than the one I've got now (its really loud) I'm happy, but I'm not too concerned about noise. My mobo (GA-M55Sli-S4 Revision 2) uses the 24p system and I'm not planning to use SLI.It has to have at least 2 SATA power cables and 1 PCI-E power cable and I'm on a bit of a budget around 40$ - 70$ (AU).I'm not too good with PSUs.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advanced

Yeah that's not a great psu. But then again which psu that comes with the case is good?

Im tired now and am probably gonna reccomend a so so one so il leave it up to the experts and might answer when I get some sleep but by then you should have a good answer.

The Coolermaster eXtreme Power 430W is one of the few PSUs that meet all your requirements. It's good quality and would be a great choice.

Is this the PSU you mean?I can't find any info about the rails or the cables can you tell me the info, and my case doesn't have a hole for the fan on top.Does this matter?Or do no cases have a hole in the top?I haven't seen any that do but then again I haven't seen too many cases.

That link doesn't work properly for me.
Rails are +3.3V@30A, +5V@28A, +12V1@14A, +12V2@15A (Total +12V@29A), [email protected], +5VSB@2A
Connectors are:
1 x ATX Main: 20+4 pin
1 x 4pin ATX12V connector
2 x FDD Connectors
2 x SATA Connectors
6 x Peripheral Power Connectors
1 x PCI-E Connector
(I'm pretty sure that's right, at least, there's quite a few models going around, and Coolermaster has messed up the specs on a few of them, and it's been a few months since I last used one myself).

No need for a hole in the top of the case - the fan faces downwards towards the motherboard, and sucks air into the PSU.

Here's another link.Faces down eh?Thats good. Are there any size issues I should worry about or are the sizes pretty standard?

If that link doesn't work its the first one when you search "eXtreme Power 430W state:vic" in staticice.com.au.You have to scroll down to find it though.

And with the cables would there be enough for my optical drive (IDE) and my Second Hard Drive (IDE) too?

That PSU is a standard size unit. It will fit fine.

That link works. The specs I provided above should be correct. I'm about 95% sure that that's the only version of that PSU currently on sale in Australia.

Yes
