What type of specs would i be looking at if i wanted to max the newer DX10 games without oc'ing?

on a mediocre budget

so:

ram
mobo
GPU
PSU
CPU

From what i've seen so far, even dual 8800's cant run DX10 games maxed out at a fairly high res, with good framerates.

Unfortunately you probably won't be able to max DX10 games on a mediocre budget. I'm not even sure (right now) if you could do it with 4 grand. I hear games like Crysis, etc. will be pretty hardware intense.

well according to all the vids i have seen on youtube interviewing crytek an 8800GTX and 6600 are plenty sufficient.. he even said DX9 cards can run it nicely.. i dont know where everyone is getting the idea that u need a super computer to run this game every review i have read and all the specifications has said that the ideal requirements is a core 2 duo, 1.5 gb ram, 8800 series GPU or equivelent and thats about it..

I'm skeptical as to whether the settings are maxed out though. Would you mind posting a link or two to these vids?
I'm not saying normal components won't run its smooth...I just don't know if you could max everything out, which is what the title of the thread implies.

this is the one where he says DX9 will also work..
ill be using DX10 but its good ppl with DX9 will not need to update

Ok. Well after watching that video I have a few observations.
1.) The game will look sick as long as you have at least an 8800 and decent CPU (or comparable)
2.) He does in fact say that you can run high settings smoothly.
3.) He also in fact says that Crysis will bring the 8800 to its knees.
4.) Keep in mind that this video is almost a year old, so I'm sure there have been plenty of graphical improvements, requiring better hardware.
5.) I'm still skeptical as to something in existence that could run that game totally maxed out at exceptional framerates.

it will be very interesting to see the requirements when their released..
and yer your right about it having updates since that vid wqas made plus any patches that might need to be added i have heard there are alot
