ok, so i plan on building a computer in the next few months here, and im doing some planning, These are the parts i want to put into it. I really am NOT good at getting the most for my money, so pleease help me edit the parts around

$200 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103773 Processor
$80 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811144151 Case
$110 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814122029 Video Card
$110 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817148022 Power Supply
$131 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145034 Ram

i will eventually get a full 8 gigs of ram, but not right away, also, im going to eventually upgrade my vid card, so im getting a cheaper one for the initial buy, i basicly want help making this cheaper, without sacrificing power too much, comments/suggestions please

To be honest with you, theres not really any need for 8 gigs of ram...it'd be a waste. I mean if you have the money to blow...then by all means. But if not, I'd put the dough toward something else. Like a new case. IMO that Apevia is hideous (no offense). But thats just me.

I would go Intel with a Core 2 Duo E6420 and a gigabyte board with the P35 chipset.

I would not go with that videocard it will be a bad performer in video games for current games and when more games are DX10. For DX10 the lowest I would go with is a 8800GTS 320MB for DX9 get a 7950GT 512 MB.

Powersupply there are cheaper and better ones out there I would get either a Antec, Corsair or OCZ.

The ram there are cheaper sets of ram that will do just fine for gaming and overclocking if you want to. I would go with G.skill they are under a $100 for 2 gigs for DDR2 800 MHz.

hey jughead you must not have been reading properly (like usual) he said he would be upgrading the video card later on for the DX10 he doesnt have the dough (read inbetween the lines). Really dude what are you going to do that will make you need 8 gb of ram. i have 3 and thats a good some for gaming you really didnt give a good scenario on what you would be using this pc for. if u say me and treddstone (hes the best) will help you to are fullest potential (jughead wont because as his name says he's a jug)

Still if he is going to be upgrading to DX 10 that is a very bad peforming card for gaming period. You dont have to be a asshole about it and I can tell you right now do not piss me off.

yo man im just playin but he said he wanted a decent card not an excellent card at the moment he needed more money so it is safe to say that yes he will have a card compatible with DX10. how was i being an asshole

Out of curiousity Jughead (and by no means am I being a smartass...this is a genuine question), what exactly would you plan on doing if he were to piss you off? I mean, to be totally honest, its rather humerous to see someone say that on a message board.

Stop the flaming Jughead and "Ron" this thread is to help stopsign002 not to flame each other just because someone didn't read all of it or just made a mistake

I have a foxconn budget mothebroard and it beats the crap out of my old asus board - dont be put off by the name- But get a core 2 duo set up

when im lookin for a good motherboard what do i need to be looking at? i really dont understand mobos too well. Maybe throw some suggestions my way? I want to stay AMD as its usually better for gaming, but tell me if somethin else would be better, and why it would be

That video card is mediocre for the inefficient, first generation DX10 games. Nice processor choice, especially with the price drop. Apevia PSU's are not to be trusted, go with a Hipro or an Ultra.

im not gonna overclock my CPU, im not that good, so i dont wanna risk it, plus AMD's benchmarks have always been good for gaming, which is what this comp is going to be used for mainly

intelcrazy, do you have a idea of a video card i should go for for DX10? also, i dont really know how to tell if a PSU is good enough for the system, would this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817174028 PSU be good enough for my set up atm?

The core 2 duos are good for gaming to but if you want to go amd thats your choice.

For DX10 do not go any lower then the 8800GTS 320MB that will cost you around $280 for the GPU on Newegg.
