thermal past or thermal compund?

A rice sized bit is put on the processor. I would recommend Arctic Silver 5. It is used to transfer heat from the CPU to the HSF.

not really, if you apply all of them correctly they all give equal results... Although a better brand name version of any one of those is going to have better thermal properties, like Arctic Silver 5 as previously suggested.

if you use thermal paste on your processor that could be a problem when you change your HSF thats why its better to use thermal grease, thermal paste are used on GPU's

how do you remove the thermal paste if its glued into the HSF?

maybe you are confusing thermal epoxy and thermal paste. it doesn't get glued on... sure the paste bonds after a while, but its supposed to do that, you get it off usually with rubbing alcohol, i think some companies actually make a product for cleaning it off, but essentially thats all it is.
