flv Converters help

i dont know much about computers alright.
i have been trying to download videos from youtube and i did but its in flv format or something i downloaded programs like mediacoder and this shark video program but its so complicated to use.
how do i convert flv to mpeg?
are there any other programs that would be much easier to use and are free?

There are many ways to download videos from YOUTUBE (i can do it myself)

I download youtube stuff with an addon that comes with firefox

i would have thought that it would be legal

Once you watch the video on Youtube, your browser will download it automatically and you can find in your temp files,it usually in this :C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files,and I think it's legal because you can't force the system down it automatically. But when you download the video with another program forwardly,I don't think it's legal.

now, lets say for example you wanted to capture and convert flash from a site where it IS legal. i would recommend using the Applian media suite. they have free trials but only let you capture 90% and convert 50% unless you buy it. but it works flawlessly.
