ATI Radeon X1650: Good, Bad, or Ugly?

Is this a decent video card for gaming? Games I plan on playing are WoW, Call of Duty...stuff like that.

Video Chipset Brand: ATI
Video Chipset: Radeon X1650
Video Bus: PCI Express x16
Video Integration: Motherboard
Installed Video Memory: 256 MB
Shared Video RAM (Max): 128 MB
Total Available Graphics Memory (Vista): 256 MB

Would it handle this well? Also would it be able to perform good quality on my LCD screen?

Most importantly: Is my nVidia GeForce FX 5500 128mb video card better than this video card? If so, is there a way I can dual-channel them (or whatever you say)? Motherboard is Intel G965 Express and there are SATA slots available.

He's refering to the RAM on the GPU itself, not your system memory. However, I'm pretty sure most all x1650's come with GDDR3. Regardless, it's a fairly low-end card now, and something like a 7600GT or a 8600 would be a better option.

Well compared to my nVidia GeForce FX 5500 128mb how does it compare? Better, worse, equal? And most importantly: is there a way I can have them both?
 
The 1650 can come in either GDDR2 or GDDR3; that's why I was asking about the memory/RAM...... I've also heard the GDDR3 version can beat the 7600 GT while the GDDR2 version is just an overclock version of the 1600 Pro.....

The 1650 with either RAM, the 7600 GT and the 8600 GT can all topple the FX5500, hands down...... Like The_Other_One said, you're probably better off getting something that is DirectX 10 Compatible; the 8600 GT and 8600 GTS being choice budget cards.

Yes, you would be able to use both cards but you're not in a SLi or Crossfire configuration. It'll also depend on what kind of card your FX is; is it a AGP card or a PCI card? If it is a PCI, you would be able to use it but if it's an AGP, you're out of luck.

It is AGP. My main question is the ATI Radeon X1650 better than the nVidia GeForce 5500 FX?

I really cannot afford a good video card right now...I am looking for decent that can play 3D games...so please answer my boldened question. :)
 
Yes, the 1650 can beat the FX5500......

If you're using an AGP mobo, you also need to use an AGP card. The card you described in your first post is a PCI-e card......

Edit: Btw, Dual Channel is a term used for RAM, the term you're looking for is SLi or Crossfire. Also, SATA has nothing to do with your graphics or graphics cards; SATA is used for your hard drives.

i have an x1650, works great with vista , no probs mine the turbo , i can play everygame with highest settings , get it :)

Is it possible to crossfire my two video cards: one is ATI onboard and other is the GeForce AGP.

Anyway I can do them both at once?

I'm not 100% sure but you can't use both the onboard video and a graphics card video at the same time. SLi and Crossfire requires you to have a SLi/Crossfire compatible mobo and two SLi/Crossfire graphics cards with the same GPU. This means that you especially can't SLi/Crossfire cross-brand cards.

Again, when you upgrade your card that you need to get the right type of bus, which, at this point, I'm pretty sure is AGP. The card you are currently looking at is PCI-e.

NO NEVER Coz ATI uses crossfire and Nvidia uses SLI.But anyway that 5500 doesn't even have SLI feature.
