IP Address?

Hey guys,

I was wondering if there is a way that I can use a different IP address on the same internet connection. See I am trying to play a game on two computers but you can only play one at a time (per ip address). I need to get around this some way. Is that possible?

No you cant, the modem is the device that has the IP addressed assigned to it from your ISP. If you have a static IP then you cant change it short of asking your ISP.

I know, he wants one PC to have a different IP, which is impossible if they are on the same network, attached to the same modem.

You can change the local IP, but that wont effect online games. The only way to do what you want to do is to have a different internet connection for each PC.

I know what your on about mate. Yes if you get a wireless router you can, it will work. Take runescape for instance. You can't have it open on two windows because 'your already logged in on the same ip address'. But my brother can have a window open on his computer and my computer and play at the same time.

It doesnt make a difference if it's wireless, unless you two are on different wireless networks which are connected to different modems.

You can play RS in two windows on the same computer.
This method probably works on 2 computers, each with one window.
