Hard Drive: Performance vs Size?

I will be purchasing a macbook in the near future and have a problem deciding between three different hard drive configurations. The standard hd is the 120gb @ 5400 rpm. I will automatically upgrade to the 160gb @ 5400 rpm. I am wondering whether I should keep upgrading and go to the 200gb @ 4200 rpm for an additional $100 or the 160gb @ 7200 rpm for an additional $150. Is the 200gb that much slower than the 160gb @ 5400 rpm and is the 160gb @ 7200 rpm that much faster than the other two?

Just stay with the 160GB 5400 RPM it will be fast enough and will save battery life and the 7200 RPM is not worth the price difference but don't go any lower than 5400RPM.

You will start to notice the loading times when you get to 4200RPM but if you need the space and don't mind waiting a bit for things to load then I guess the 4200RPM would be fine.

alright ill go 5400 rpm then and if I need more space I'll buy an external and move some things there. Is the 7200 rpm that much faster? how much battery life will I lose with it? The macbooks gets around 6 hours.

If the macbooks get that much battery life and its not that much more expensive then go with the 7200RPM with the same harddrive space.

well its $150 to go from 160gb @5400 rpm to 160gb @7200 rpm. Should I just go with the 5400 and use the money on something else or will I notice a big difference in performance?
