Power Cord Question

The cord for the power supply to the outlet, does it need a specific one to use? Or as long as it fits, its ok? I mean for ex., a 550W PSU, do I need a certain power cord to fit its wattage? Or what I can use in a 250W PSU, I can with a 550W?
