hey- i just built my first desktop- and want to keep it clean. it's been up and running for under 6hrs and hasnt been on a network- but i noticed 4 cookies already. how is that possible?

also- the only outside source the computer has seen is a portable hard drive- which has been scanned with nod32 and come up clean- but i did have one weird thing happen an hr ago. after installing an intel driver- windows indicated that it was seeing the portable harddrive and then not- and then seeing it and then not. and then upon restarting a few seconds later- there was a program not responding that flashed for a split second that said something like "youshouldnotseethis.exe" i cant imagine that's a standard windows component.

any input would be most appreciated.

Sry for digging up an old thread but I also am interested in what youshouldnotseethis.exe is. There is little to no information about this executable and as far as I can tell this the only thread that even mentions it.

I also saw this while updating drivers on a friends pc for just a brief second during a restart. This lead me to believe that maybe it is not a virus but some sort of programers easter egg of some sort which is activated during driver installation, but who knows? If any one has any information on this please do tell.

Go into run/msconfig/startup and see if you can disable it from start up, it sounds like somthing not good... even if it is somthing you need it will just add itself back to the list. But run virus/spyware scans also. Maybe someone else will know what it is

I ran a virus scan on my friends computer but came up with nothing, it is not running during start up as I also checked. Really I am stummped as to what this program is or does. Like I said before it showed up as a non responding program for a brief second after installing drivers during a reboot. As far as I can tell it has done nothing malicious to his computer, just interested as to what the program is for.

i also have seen this "youshouldnotseethis" however mine case is more worrying. As you see, this is what happened: i was doing a virus scan since it was some time ago. (and honestly i was kind of afraid i already had one) but when the scanner finished, the whole computer restarted, showing me that "youshouldnotseethis" message and a more worrying one too: psybot. i already started another anti-virus program in hope something like that won't happen again
ps: i was downloading something else in the meanwhile if you need to know. it was flash player so i dont think that would contain a virus.
