ATI vs. NVIDIA vs. other

you wont notice much difference if you get either one of their top of the line cards unless you like to run benchmarks and compare.

haha, thats an ignorant statement. You cant say that nVidia is better or ATI is better, because they both have several cards, and it depends if your looking for a budget card or high end card.
 
I bought an ATI 9800 Pro, and I will never buy another ATI card again. Everything you read about the drivers and support is true, its abysmal.

When did you buy it? Because if it was recently, I dont blame ATI since it's a very old card.

All you need to do is go to www.ati.com and get the drivers and CCC from there, I dont see where you actually need alot of support.
 
i have had 3 ati cards and never had an issue with any of them.

I suppose the question that needs to be asked is what kind of budget do you have for this card?

Then many of us can give our respective opinions!
 
I can't really say I have a dislike for one another, I own 2 of each video cards and have never experianced a problem with one. Although ATi installs alot of crappy ultilites that I never use. I personally perfer nVidia.

That's $500! You can pick up a GTX for $500. Which is a better card BTW.

You can argue that newer, more mature drivers will improve performance, but never above that of a GTX IMO. 'cept in those certain games where the HD is the better card.

I bought it 3 years ago when it was new. ATI drivers and software have never worked on my computer; I can't install or uninstall anything ATI. I've used OMEGA drivers since the first day I tried to download new drivers.
