Spam Emails From Africa

So today I got an email from one of those spammers offering me 4.8 million dollars and i just need to call him. So he gave me his number and I told him I called it but It said it was disconected(I never really called it). So he keeps emailing me back and forth and what not. So what should I do to **** with him?:D Idk how to do an IP lookup or anything like that so what do you guys think I should do? I'm tired of spammers and want to have a little fun with this guy. looking forward to your suggestions Asap
 
One simple idea for dealing with non domestic spam is to simply BLOCK SENDER! I love the block domain option as well as forwarding spam to the ISP's spam report address and let them go after the spammers! They multiple domain names generally to avoid back tracking.
 
ya i get those too, ther like oo im sorry to hear of ur familys death in south africa flight bah blah blah , and im like WTF i dont have any family that went there. then they say to claim there money or iono somting stupid

Good one there alright! :P Whenever some strange email arrives telling some urgent need for money to be sent to grieving families warning bells should sound off right there! Most of these are geared for the gullible and should be simply deleted upon sight. One thing not to do is click on any link for "to unsubcribe from these mailings click here" since that only confirms a valid email address. :eek:! "More spam? :confused: How did they know?"
 
Tell them you are really interested but have a cashflow problem at the moment. Could they send 50 dollars to open a bank account so you can get things rolling :)
 
hmm i have only ever gotten one e-mail like this, because my e-mail address is so off the wall, no man on earth could guess it, or buy it for that matter, because i often create new e-mail accounts, for different things. one for school, one for accounts to forums and such, one for personal information, and one for communication. id like to see them scam me

Good idea, the guy hasn't emailed me since last night so we'll have to see.

Devulge no personal information and simply block the sender would be the smart move over putting yourself in a very awkward position. These are obviously scams being pulled and should be avoided period. If anything you may want to consider advising authorities on this.

If you are replying to them to mess with them, They are in the awkward position. The only way it becomes stupid is giving them your bank account info. Just remember the more time you are messing with them the less time they are spending with the gullible!
 
Tell him you are skeptical and to make sure he is a real person have him email you a picture of him, with a cat on his head, or something ridiculous and see if he does it.

Most of the scammers use webmail like yahoo, which is not traceable to a country since yahoo.com is based out of CA, USA.

See if he sends you the pic, then ask for something else ridiculous but make sure the whole time you act very interested and see how far it goes. The more time you waste of his doing stupid stuff the more time he has wasted and is not scamming someone.
 
Well he hasn't emailed me since thursday night so I think he got the hang that I didn't want to fall for his crap. And his email was yahoo.jp.com or something like that.

Yeah they all use webmail usually yahoo for some reason. I had a guy from africa try to scam me for a dog I was wanting to buy out of my local paper. I went to my local paper's website looking to buy a dog from a breeder and emailed them. When they responded they gave me this long tear jerker on how they had to move and they must find a good home for their brand new puppy. I asked where they were from and they said denver. I was like hey, I got family there I can drive there for a weekend and see the dog and if I like it I will pick it up.

Then came the hook, well I am already in africa I am a missionary for god. Ok, I wasn't born yesterday, You can't just ship animals from africa to the USA with out it being 1) super costly and 2) go through quarantine. It was an obvious scam and on top of that this jerk offs were advertising in my local newspaper.

If I had the cash I would have flown the Africa and beat the crap out of that guy and then smashed his computer. I wonder how many people have fallen for those types of scams? I hate how he used god also as his proof that he was an honest person. Obviously I knew it was a scam and I should have known from the beginning because it sounded all too good to be true from the get go.

Good idea, but I doubt you'd get more than a fake money order. That's about the best way you can antagonize them... just lead them on until they send you the money order, and then break contact. Then they lose the money that it costs to make the counterfeit and the shipping costs.

Believe me the only thing they would actually lose is time there. One inkling that you were onto them wouldn't see any money order sent to begin with. They want "you" to give out information or send check or money order.
 
Just block that spam, that way, after you've blocked him, anyone that has an email account under your email provider won't have it.

well if you read my fist post you would of noticed that I said I wanted to "mess" with this guy a lil, but he hasn't believed what I said. If any1 is in the UK and wants to call this guy his number is +22505212947
 
He hasn't believed you since he is out to "scam you"! If I was even in the UK I wouldn't even call unless authorities were invited to listen. Then simply have a camcorder ready for "his" reaction when they show up at his doorstep. :eek: ! "got ya!" :P
 
Dude it's NEVER gonna happen...

You'll never get his REAL phone, adress or see him in front of you.......
