My PC is a XPS 600 from Dell in 2005. I figure instead of buying a new PC every couple years, i should just keep upgrading and upgrading and upgrading. My system is

Case: XPS 600 Case
Power Supply: Dell 650Watt
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.4GHz HT
Mobo: XPS 600 Mobo
Memory: Dell Memory DDR2 2GB 667MHz
Video Card: EVGA nVidia Geforce 8600 GTS (Just upgraded from a 6800:))
Sound Card: SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtrememusic

I think I should upgrade my case (cause i'm bored of it) and my mobo and processor. What mobo and cpu should i get?

I don't know bout $500 to $1000 CAD.
I'm not looking for the highest end cpu and mobo just one that can keep me up to date with technology and a mobo that can run SLI.

This CPU

Depending on how much you want to spend

This mobo

Then your computer will be a beast :)

Edit: i think you will have to buy a new version of windows like "OEM" and reformat the drive, because if you get a new mobo you have to do that, the restore disk wont work
