okais im gettin my mobo today around 4 so i wanna start buildin, i need to know how u applied ur AS5 ur self, im reading the instructions online and it says u only place a small dab of AS5 (the size of a grain of rice) is that really enough ??? and also AS5 is meant for CPU heat spreading right , i jsut wanna make sure i have the right thing. and tell me how u applied it, like did u spread it or did u jsut dab it and let the pressure of the heatsink spread it out on the CPU

D:
am i too late? It's 2:06 pacific time
well anyhow, arctic silver's site says to just place a line on the cpu, then place the heat sink on and let it smoosh around, and to wiggle it like 5 degrees clockwise then counterclockwise so it's spread around, then simply bolt in the heatsink. good luck

but wait , so its a line not a dot, but how long does the line have to be and is it horizontal or vertical or diagonal, ahh but ya ur still in time, and i cant turn it , its an AMD Heat sink , the square one ,

thanks :D

trust me it is. If you put too much, it overheats. uhh, just google 'arctic silver 5 instructions'. The application differs depending on what processor you have because of the placement of them under the heatspreader. the arctic silver site has instructions for all of them.

I would put a dot on the center of the CPU, not in a line. And a little goes a long way because once you press the heatsink down, it spreads out A LOT.

I wasnt aware a dot was enough. Maybe thats why my CPU is way hotter than it should be.
What I actually do is put a small dot in the center, and a very tiny amount near the 4 corners, but from what i've read all you need to do is put it in the center.

Too much and it will drip down the sides and onto the motherboard.
