CPU GPU issue

I'm lookiing to build a new comp but i'm running a little bit over the top money wise.

I can save 200 bucks if i go from a E6750 down to a E6550 CPU

-or-

If i go with the E6750 and take the 8600GTS instead of the 8800GTS.

I can wait maybe one to two more months for the computer before I go crazy. I know the prices will drop, but which one should i go. (I don't know how to OC, but i think that OCing the E6550 shouldn't be that hard right?)
 
I would go

Down Processor

Up GPU.

You will see better Performance from the better video card that you would from the better CPU.
 
but but but....will a cheap $150 CPU be able to support the 8800 series...

Will the cheap CPU run stuff other than games well enough??
 
good call....you will hardly be able to notice CPU difference and will DEFINETLY notice GPU diff
