So I know Quad cores have been out for several months(maybe even a year?), and I noticed companies like HP are now selling desktops with Quad cores. So how long do you think it will take for intel to make a mobile processor that's quad core? So the poll question is how long will it be before laptops are shipping with quad cores in them?

Edit: noticed the thread title is ****ed up, sry bout that, I think it's time for a better wireless keyboard :(.

It will be a while, quad cores in laptops would take too much power, it seems, to really be worth it.

The only laptop that I think it might be possible in is the Acer C90S because it uses desktop processors. Any1 have more info on this laptop to see if its possible?

LET THE BASHING BEGIN!

Just kidding. Let's keep things civil.

lol, I'll try to keep it civil. If joes... w/e read my original post he would have found that one of my questions was how long would it take for intel to make amobile qaud core processor, not just a laptop that takes desktop processors.

Oh and to answer the question, I expect to see them Q1 of 2008 but that is just my prediction based off articles. I say in around 6 months time.

i was answering this question. and as to "mobile"... it moves... with you (laptop). desktop socket in laptop/socket M/P in laptop... same difference but the socket M/P is less power consuming
