Windows Movie Maker, AVI as sound?

I am using Windows Movie Maker, I have imported the AVI movie file I want to incorporate and it won't play on the screen in the program, instead it puts it as sound on the time line and just plays the sound. Can someone tell me what's going wrong?

Thanks

just use any standard avi to wmv or mpeg , whatever satisfies movie maker, there are dozens of freeware off google

I also have some AVI's that only play audio. The only way I can view them is in VLC. Apparently I need the DirectShow codec to convert it (I want to put it on my Mp3 player). Does anyone know how I can get the codec? Thanks!

Install the Klite Codec pack, i can do almost any file type in WMM now. It uses FFdshow for movies.

I just need something to appease WMM.... Will this work?

Thanks

Edit: I just installed this, the standard pack, I am still just getting sound in WMM....
