Laptop for College

I'm heading off to college soon, and I need a laptop. What would you say that I need/what do you suggest? Right now, I'm looking at a Dell Vostro 1400 with an Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 (2.0GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB) processor. I'm also getting a 2 gig flash drive and a 160 gig portable hard drive. Any suggestions?

If you go to dell.com and configure your own inspiron you can get a pretty good deal, providing you configure it with what you need and not what you want lol. I configured one that would run most things good and it was 900. The one I wanted.....2700...lol. I don't know your price range but it's worth looking into if your set on a dell!
