Multiple Recovery CD's from one notebook

I made one recovery cd from my HP Compaq nx6310 notebook, but something went wrong with the dvd disk(it doesn't work). So is there some way to get one more recovery cd, without buying it.

thats not what hes talking about. he needs to make another recovery disk from the recovery partition (i think). unfortunately, i dont know how to do it. when i made mine, it looked like it deleted the data from the recovery partition, so your data may be gone. im not completely sure, but i think the DVD only restores the original factory settings.

Saying you have a disk with two partitions, C:\ and D:\. When you insert the recovery disk, it will format one partition, namely C:\ (because thats where the OS is). Any data that remains on the partition D:\ should remain intact - or this is how it happened on my Acer TravelMate 2492WLMi.

If you have crashed your PC and need a new recovery disk, RedTab is right, just ring them up and ask em to send you a new one. They might want you to pay for postage though. . .
