8800gts worth the upgrade from 7600gt ?

depends on the specs of the rest of your computer. If you were going to get that 6000+ and had at least 2Gb of RAM then sure; very much worth it.
 
The processor will bottleneck how much data is going to and from the gpu. Thus not allowing it to reach it's max "potential" (if that's the right word).;)
 
Aslong as you have something better than a celeron (or equivalent budget chip)I doubt there will be much of a bottleneck, I have seen gaming machine run with p4's and run just fine on higher settings.
 
well am going to get a amd 6000+ first followed by 2gb of ram then a 8800 gts but it gotta save up good since am only 14 i probaly end up getting the gpu at crimbo time, also i need a 450w power supply with pci express lead to connect to the 8800 gts
 
Ok this is scaring me know... I'm in the exact same position as you. I have a 7600 GT but want to get a 8800 GTS, however I need a new PSU. I'm going to upgrade from 1 Gig of ram to 2, and I plan on purchasing an Athlon 6000+ x2. I'm also 14...Scary.
 
Same shit happened to me, i'll change my PSU for an OCZ GameXstream 600W and my CPU for an AMD 5600X2 and my 7600GS for a 8800GTS, should be a good machine after! :D

hmm....Celeron D will surprise you with good cooling
 
Now I am really scared.

Anyway I'd get the RAM then GPU then CPU. However if your CPU is bad then you should upgrade that first.

Have you ever used a Celeron? I had a 2.4ghz one awhile back, and I played all my games on it. It's not ideal sure, but it's not total crap, and I hear some can overclock like crazy.
 
Well u are better to spend 40 bucks more to get at least a dual core, i still think it's ok for certain type of thing, but not for gaming.
 
What up Shenry :P lol hard to earn money at our age hey especially when you got back from holiday and your parents say were skint lol. Anyway amd 6000+ is it really crap for gaming ? And if it is what amd shall i get whats good for gaming ?

oh thanks for that robby:P starngehold i need a new psu andyway my psu only has 300w on it now and that card needs a system suply of 400w min.
