Also check the temperature and see if the GPU or CPU is overheating. There's no other reason why this would happen in the middle of a game.

I agree with the heat statement. If it was PSU, then it should be showing overall instability, not just in a game, but in any stressful application.

Umm guys, the last time I heard, stressful apps cause heat, therefore I would check both. But, yes, my first check would be on the PSU, you have to have electricity in a PC to generate heat...

Chances are the most stressful application he does is gaming. What is the most stressful thing you do with a computer?

Playing movies is not stressful to the video card, neither is surfing the web.

So while playing the game it uses more current (not higher voltages, more current) causing heat and or over stressing the PSU. And since the video card is drawing more current, but can't get what it needs, it will over heat.

How is that even working.

I think it will be the Power Supply.

Even if doesn end up too be, A 380W is horrible too be trieing too run that system...

My 7600GS requires a Absolute Minimum PSU of 300W.

Thats a 7600!!!

ionno, it's not really about the voltage i always say. It's about a reliable 12 v rail. I'm running an xfx 7900 gs xxx with 4 Ram Dimms umm two optical drives, smart card reader, an amd x2 4200+ on a 300 watt psu, with a 22a 12 v rating, runs like a charm.

Exactly, in an eggshell, check the PSU first...

7600 GT 256MB DDR3 they recommend a minimum 350W power supply with 18A on the +12v rail..

Are you running vista?

I have had issues running and installing AOE3 on vista.

Trying turning down the graphics settings to minimum and run it for awhile, still the same issue, try reinstalling it.

I really doubt it is a PSU issue, lol..

Is that one of those games where you have to "Run as Admin"
