Need help ripping video from a DVD

My wife's grandfather made us a DVD of pictures from our wedding set to music. I've been trying to figure out a way to get the pictures off of that DVD, so that I can use them for other things (web posting, scrap-booking, etc.). There must be a program out there that will allow me to rip the DVD video from the disc into MPEG or AVI format, but I cannot find it. Can someone please help me. Thanks.

I don't know of anything that will reverse the movie, the closest would be to take a snapshot but you will never be able to get the original resolution of the photo.

Once photo's are converted into movies the original resolution is lost as it's saved in a "lossy" format.

I hope I can be proved wrong.

I use a program called Cucusoft DVD to Ipod Converter to convert DVD's to IPod video format, and that reverses it pretty well. However, it changes it to a format that I don't believe Windows Movie Maker can comprehend.

If you arent lying about the DVD, then you can use Nero to rip the video into an ordinary MPG or AVI file. Of course Nero, as well as most programs wont work if the DVD is copy protected.

or watch the dvd as a slideshow and use print screen and crop it down in photoshop and voila you have the photos with nothing else. Thats tedious tho depending on how many pictures are there.
