The Geforce 8950 GX2 is a dual-chip card based on a new 80 nanometre G80 chip, probably codenamed something else. Both GX2 GPUs are clocked at 550MHz and the difference is GDDR4. The card comes with 2x512MB of 256-bit GDDR4 memory clocked at 2000MHz. The card has 96 Shaders, per chip. It will be priced at $600.

They have been saying this forever, I am yet to see an 8900. I would have bought the 8950GX2 if it had been out. At first we heard the launch was in April, WRONG, then on ATI's R600 launch, WRONG, and then mid-July, WRONG. I am afraid that they might get the 9800 on the market before these.

I'll be okay with what I have for right now... I mean... it's not the best, but the card is a beast. I'd like to get a better aftermarket cooler.. I have a NV5R3 on my old 6800, but apparently, the ATI side of that cooler isn't that great.... but my GPU is the hottest thing in my system!

its bootiful :)

Does nvidia usually update their quadro FX cards at the same time they introduce a new line of chips, G92? I really hope they release a quadro FX 5700/4700 that will have some crazy ammount of memory and settings.

I also hope they also realease it so that it works correctly with EFI bios so that it would be usable nativly in osx.

lol, I hope you know I was joking :P

yup, but the sarcastic thing might not be that funny Geoff, I'm serious... GPUs need to get smaller, no bigger... I'll need a Lian Li server tower if I ever want to get the newest GPU...

haha, I just glanced over your first post. Now I see what you were getting at :o

I really dont see all the hype about these cards... Has anyone seen an update about them? Seems to me that they are all simply speculation.

The date on all those articles is like mid February...its August. Ill wait for nvidia to announce something, instead of the inquirer and other sources who for the most part I havent found to be very credible or timely.
